Learn how to change your wheel bearings: Terrain Tamer Masterclass Episode 3

We don’t need to tell you how important it is to keep an eye on the wheel bearings on your 4X4. Worn bearings can be identified by a grinding, humming or rumbling sound when driving. The easiest way to check, is to jack the wheel up and with your 4X4 supported on stands, try to rock the wheel from top to bottom. Next with it in neutral, spin the wheel and listen out for a rumbling sound. If there is significant movement or noise it’s time to change your bearings.

The third Terrain Tamer episode teaches you the basics of how to swap out your wheel bearings. Few people know 4WDs as well as the tireless Allan Gray, and he has plenty of valuable wisdom to pass on: We reckon it’s seven minutes well spent.
