Cape to Red Centre: New Night Hawk ADV hits hard

Fresh off the line and already copping a workout, Bushranger’s new Night Hawk ADV Driving Lights have been put to the test where it counts, up the Cape and across the red centre. Pat and the crew bolted a set on early and came away seriously impressed, hinting that these budget-friendly but tough-as-nails lights might punch well above their price tag. A full review is coming soon, but here’s what we know so far.

Built for the Bush

The ADV series comes in 7in and 9in kits, combining multi-LED chips with purpose-built reflectors to throw both reach and spread. On paper, that means over a kilometre of usable light from the 7s and up to 1,285 metres from the 9s, not bad numbers for a light that starts at $550.

Both sizes are running 5700K colour temp for that clean, white daylight feel, and each light is built tough with a die-cast aluminium housing, 3D polycarbonate lens, and UV-stable powder coat. They’re IP68 and IP69K rated, so they’ll laugh off dust, mud, creek crossings, and even high-pressure washers.

Australian Conditions, Australian Testing

Bushranger have torture tested these ADV lights in real conditions here in Oz. From corrugated roads to full submersion, they’ve built them to take the same punishment as the rest of your rig. Mounting hardware is properly heavy-duty too, with stainless steel brackets and secure bolt patterns to keep them locked in even after hours of corrugations.

Each kit comes plug-and-play ready, with harnesses (300W for the 7in, 600W for the 9in) and interchangeable protective covers in clear, blackout and amber. That means easy install and custom looks without having to raid the accessory catalogue.

First Impressions from the Tracks

Pat’s words say it all: “blown away.” While the full review is still to come, the early signs suggest the Night Hawk ADV lights aren’t just spec-sheet warriors. They’ve already survived Cape York’s endless water crossings and the punishing dust of the Outback without missing a beat.
