On August 13th, the highly anticipated, brand new Pioneer Verve Off-road Hybrid Caravan launched at Outback HQ Open day in Melbourne. Over two years ago, Pioneer Campers was purchased by Track Trailers and after a challenging COVID-protracted development cycle, the Pioneer Verve was born.
What makes it special?
The Pioneer brand has named the Verve accordingly, with ‘verve’ meaning ‘Viguor, Spirit, and Enthusiasm.’ This is to represent the significant development work that the Pioneer team have put into further evolutionising the Pioneer Brand. The TRACK Group team of designers and engineers took a deep dive into the hybrid market segment, taking into consideration the designs of competitors, building methodology, standard fitment, options and price points.
Features of note
Sleeping and storage
The bed is standard as an East/West orientation, which works to maximise living space within the caravan. The design is in your hands. It can be customised to be an east/west double, or a north/south queen, or even two king singles with central access. Any seat location can be swapped out for additional storage, allowing you the flexibility to create the caravan that suits you best. If you want to keep your clothes in order, you have the ability to install a full height wardrobe alongside the shower. If you’d prefer to store in drawers, a low 2-drawer benchtop system can replace any seat.
Custom-designed chassis
The Verve features a hot-dipped galvanised chassis, that has been uniquely designed. The reason why a ‘custom designed’ chassis and suspension matters is to ensure even weight distribution and a manageable ball load within the 10%-15% required to achieve good towing stability. Exactly what you want for a reliable weekender.
Tyres
You’ll find Goodyear Wrangler light-truck tyres on 16″ CSA alloy rims, with a single underslung spare accessed by a winch. This design is what centralises and lowers weight, as well as leaves the back of the van free if you want to chuck on a bike carrier.
Power
Redarc Redvision® has been used to give you access to all the major appliance and onboard systems. You can switch inside and outside lights and view energy charge / consumption via the Bluetooth app on your mobile phone. You can also conveniently check water capacity, turn on the inverter and easily deactivate the fridge(s) for storage, activate on board water pump and so much more.Â
To charge, the system accepts charge from solar, the tow vehicle and an external 240V source. All circuits have fuses and there is a master power switch for storage.
There’s 200Ah of Lithium batter power ran by Australia’s most advanced state of the art Battery Management System inbuilt.
What will it cost?
The Pioneer Verve will set you back $128,500. This price includes GST, delivery and registration in Victoria.
