Club 4X4’s Mods Grant competition is entering its final week, giving one lucky 4WDer the chance to receive up to $30,000 worth of ARB accessories and installation to transform their vehicle.
With the cost of quality touring gear continuing to climb, it’s the sort of prize that could completely change the way you travel. Whether you’ve been planning a lap of Australia, tackling remote tracks or simply building a more capable weekend tourer, thirty grand buys a serious amount of equipment.
Unlike many competitions, though, this one isn’t simply about luck. Club 4X4 is looking for the best application, asking entrants to explain their vehicle, their dream Australian adventure and what’s stopping them from making it happen. With the deadline fast approaching, now is the time to get your entry in.
A prize built for touring, not horsepower
It’s easy to burn through a modification budget these days. Suspension, armour, storage systems, 12V setups, recovery equipment and camping accessories all add up surprisingly quickly, especially if you’re building a vehicle that’s expected to handle thousands of kilometres of touring.
That’s what makes this prize so appealing.
The successful entrant will receive up to $30,000 RRP worth of approved ARB products, including labour, allowing them to build a capable and practical touring setup. The focus is firmly on improving how your vehicle performs off the beaten track rather than chasing extra power, with performance modifications specifically excluded from the prize.
For plenty of 4X4ers, that’s exactly where the biggest gains are made anyway. Better suspension can improve comfort over corrugations, bar work gives confidence in rough terrain, while smart storage and touring equipment often make longer trips far more enjoyable.
It’s the sort of upgrade package many of us slowly piece together over years. Winning it in one hit would certainly fast-track the process.
Not just a random draw
One thing that sets this competition apart is how the winner is selected.
Rather than pulling a name from a barrel, Club 4X4 wants to know about the person behind the steering wheel. As part of the entry, applicants are asked about their current modifications, their dream Australian trip and what’s currently standing between them and that adventure.
That means taking a few extra minutes with your answers is probably worthwhile.
There are eligibility requirements to keep in mind too. Entrants must be Australian residents aged 25 or older with a full Australian driver’s licence. Eligible vehicles need to be a 2005 model or newer, currently insured, registered in an individual’s name and suitable for modification. Fully electric vehicles aren’t eligible, and only one entry is permitted per vehicle.
The winner will then work with an approved ARB partner to select their modifications, with the total prize covering up to $30,000 RRP including labour.
Don’t leave it until it’s too late
We’ve all done it. You spot a competition that looks worth entering, tell yourself you’ll come back to it later, then remember a week after it closes. With entries wrapping up on July 6th, this is one of those opportunities that’s probably worth spending five or ten minutes on before it disappears.

Some of us love our older four wheel drives. Why have you restricted comp entries to “later than 2005”? My old girl would love to have some updating done.
I eventually want to travel around Australia so I would love to deck out my Ranger with ARB accessories to make the trip more enjoyable and comfortable. Suspension would be a priority for those corrugated roads.
I would love to work with ARB to create a disability-access solution that would allow me to take my 18-year-old son camping in the Victorian High Country. It’s something I’d love to share with him, but unfortunately our current vehicle limitations mean we can’t make it happen. A practical solution would make a huge difference to our family’s ability to enjoy the outdoors together.
I can’t enter. I have a 90 series landcruiser. Just hit 400,000km and still running well. She could use an electrical upgrade so I can run my espresso machine.
I would like to set up my Vehicle to be better equiped for off grid use, navigation and communication. I would also like a recovery system installed. The dream trip is getting closer, just not quite there yet.
