Sydney’s Land Rover Owner’s Club branch has put their best tyre forward recently, putting their rigs to good use in clearing out a a rubbrish strewn part of Newnes State Forest.
The club cleared out four wrecked car bodies from the forest, along with litter that has plagued campsites in the area. Working together with the Forestry Corporation of NSW, the club spent the day skull-dragging cars out of the forest and to a nearby road where they were picked up by a truck.
“I’ve been in the club for about fourteen years, and they have been doing if for at least that long. I think they have been doing it for about twenty years” said Matt Barnes, a club member.
“We did Essington State Forest previously near Oberon, and we pulled about ten wrecks out of that area.”
We applaud the Land Rover Owners Club of Sydney for getting out there and making a difference, showing that the majority of four-wheel drivers are responsible members of the public who want only the best for the bush.
