The SEMA show held in Las Vegas each year would have to be considered the holy grail of automotive shows. Companies from all around the world, use SEMA as a launch pad to display and release their new products to the masses. Lightforce, while a proudly Australian company have a huge following overseas, and decided SEMA was the right place to release their new series of driving lights… the New Lightforce HTX Driving Lights.

The beauty of the new Lightforce HTX Driving Light, is the fact it incorporated HID technology into the centre of the light, with LED technology around the outside of the housing. What this hybrid technology offers, is both an insane amount of light spread while still packing a punch down a straight section of road. So, here are some specs!

The 170mm reflector houses a 70w HID fast start bulb in the centre which has been designed for long distance throw. Circling the massive HID bulb is 20 LEDs which Lightforce say will throw the equivalent of a 20″ LED light bar. When combined, Lightforce say they have tested a pair of these hybrid beauties to reach a distance of 1767m @ 1LUX. Which is quite impressive. Best of all, users can independently select to operate either the HID or LED components. This should provide versatile lighting solutions for a range of on and off-road conditions.

The light housing features a genuine Gore waterproof membrane, which helps the HTX achieve a moisture and contaminant ingress rating of IP69K. Stay tuned for further updates, as we are very keen to take a closer look at the performance of the new Lightforce HTX driving lights, once they have been released onto the Australian market.
