Ford has dusted off one of its most popular limited editions and brought it back for 2026. The Ranger Black Edition has officially returned, and this time around it’s sharper than ever with a price tag that’s hard to ignore.
A Special Edition That Won’t Last Long
If the last run of Black Editions was anything to go by, you’ll need to move quickly. The 2024 batch sold out fast, and Ford clearly reckons lightning will strike twice. This year’s version will land in dealerships from October, with production limited to just two months. Translation: once they’re gone, they’re gone.
The Package
Underneath, it’s the familiar 2.0-litre Bi-Turbo XL dual cab 4X4. On top, it’s all about the looks. Exclusive asphalt black alloys, black mesh grille with grey highlights, side steps, sports bar and a fully lined tub all come standard. Even the floor has been upgraded with proper carpet and mats. It’s a workhorse with a great price, and a little style thrown in for kicks.
Optional extras are on the table too, a $1,950 tow pack that’ll be a must-buy and $750 prestige paint, but most will be happy enough with the standard arctic white.
The Price Play
This is where it gets interesting. The sticker reads $55,990 (MLP), but Ford has made it even sweeter with drive-away deals:
- $57,000 for private buyers
- $55,000 flat for ABN holders
For a dual cab with this spec sheet and that much street presence, it’s punching well above its weight.
To Sum It Up
Special editions are often about looks, and the Black Edition nails that brief. But it’s also about value, and that’s where this one really lands the blow. For small business owners who want a capable ute that turns heads, or private buyers who just want a rig that stands out from the crowd, it’s a solid play.
