On the back of the newly-released 2017 Isuzu D-Max (and MU-X), Isuzu have also lifted the covers off a limited-edition D-Max X-Runner.
Coming in either a Cosmic Black or Silky White Pearl, the X-Runner comes in to celebrate Isuzu’s 100-year anniversary. Like the new model, the X-Runner gets the updated drivetrain, with the ‘Hi-Power’ 4JJ1 three-litre turbodiesel engine (130kW, 430Nm) and six-speed automatic gearbox.
Much of the customisation of the X-Runner model is cosmetic: red badging and a gunmetal grey grille and sidesteps, charcoal alloy wheels and a black sports bar make this one stand apart from the typical D-Max.
More practical inclusions on this model are a heavy-duty tub liner, rear park assist and a reversing camera through the new 7″ infotainment display. Also, you score climate control air conditioning.
The new X-Runner model does display good value at $46,990, driveaway. Isuzu are pretty confident they will get rid of these new models quickly. At that price, we’d tend to agree.
