Okay, they are just sketches, but if you like your Mitsubishis, look closer. Because these drawings show the future design language of future 4X4’s that will wear the three diamonds.
These models will be on display at the Tokyo Motor Show that opens November 22nd. Most importantly to us is the concept named GC-PHEV, which is a sneak peek into the new Pajero that is coming soon. Along with a plug-in hybrid drivetrain, the concept has Mitsubishi’s ‘super all-wheel control’, which touts “off-road capability and sure-footed driving dynamics”. GC stands for Grand Cruiser, by the way.
Starting production in 1999, the NM Pajero enjoyed a production run until 2006. From there, it was replaced with the NP Pajero. The changeover was far from radical however, ‘facelift’ would be a more suitable term for the model change (despite changed designations.)
