Keeping up their tradition of roadtripping their way to Mount Panorama for the annual ‘Great Race’, this year saw V8 Supercar maestros Rick and Todd Kelly make the trip to the mountain in two Nissan 4X4’s.
Going with a classic and modern theme, the Kelly brothers took a Nissan Patrol G60 and a Y62 Patrol on their annual trip to the mountain.
“We were pretty excited about the road trip,” Rick Kelly added. “We’ve done it every year and the tradition started back in about 2001.”
Travelling from Melbourne, the Kelly brothers choose a route that takes them past the Vicorian High Country and Great Dividing Range to bring them to Bathurst.
“The trip takes just over a day the way we go about it and we always turn up very relaxed and ready to attack the week.”
Sporting a 4 litre straight six that boasts a rugged 318Nm, the G60 was slightly outpowered by the 560Nm Y62, which sports the same V8 (VK56VD) as the Nissan Altima V8 Supercar.
