The journey takes the trio through a total of twelve counties, including Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. While parts of the journey on blacktop, the vehicles have seen sand, dirt and mud in their efforts to follow the historic route.
Coupling a a 3.0-litre sequential-turbo V6 diesel with a 35kW/170Nm electric motor, the hybrid setup adds only 120kg of overall drivetrain weight, and can power the Rangie along for around 1.5 km on its own.
