$160k Amarok Giveaway winner collects V6 ‘Rok

It’s not every day you get to rock up to a car showroom to collect some brand new wheels. Even rarer, though, is not having to hand over a single dollar. Pat Callinan’s 4X4 Adventures subscriber, Catherine, along with her husband, had just one of those days.

Hailing from the NSW south coast, Catherine counts herself very lucky for entering the 2016 Adventure Amarok Giveaway, which totalled a massive prize pool of over $160,000. Lucky, because she won.

Their shiny new steed is the Amarok V6 Ulitmate. That V6 makes 165kW @ 4,500rpm, and 550Nm of torque @ 1,500-2,500rpm. Beyond that, an overboost function gives you a temporary extra kick, up to 180kW and 580Nm. It’s perfect for overtaking and hills, especially when you’re towing.

And towing will be on the agenda for this ute, seeing as a 14′ Lotus Caravans Off Grid was also part of the prize pool. Tough enough to head off-road, this caravan will see you camping just about anywhere in Australia, without sacrificing any comfort.

That V6 engine runs through a slick 8-speed automatic gearbox, powering all four wheels full-time. Off-road traction control is really effective and is supported by a locking rear differential. For any mods Catherine will be looking at, there’s a $5,000 ARB 4X4 Accessories voucher, as well as a $1,000 Club 4X4 voucher for 4X4-specific insurance.
