Recently HSV announced pricing on the Chevrolet Silverado slated for release Down Under later this year, with the possibility of us getting the upgraded looks of the 2019 year model. Just to tease us that much further, Chevrolet have just released the a teaser image and damn, the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD just looks mean!
It’s only just a single image at this stage, and very few other details (besides it will be released late 2019 in the US). It is, however, the next iteration of the (insert deep, guttural American drawl voice here) big Yank tank.
This will be the third design change in the past 18 months, joining, as we said earlier, the 2019 Silverado 1500 and 2019 Silverado 4500/5500/6500HD. It looks bigger, bolder, more aggressive than anything we’ve seen to date, with an oval shaped grille texture, and a bigger, angrier bonnet scoop and bulge.
Chevrolet have said in their press release that testing of the new prototypes will begin soon, to ensure that the new version stands up to the standard durability targets of the Chevy Truck.
“Chevrolet already fuels the most successful truck manufacturer in the industry,” said Alan Batey, global head of Chevrolet. “With a completely new, expanded range of Silverado models on the horizon, we expect to see even more truck buyers in Chevrolet (read: HSV) showrooms.”
So our thoughts are rather apparent, in that the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD just looks mean. With the looks, style, features like towing and capability, plus a rather aggressive pricing structure from HSV, when they’re released here in Australia, will they be enough to get you to part with your hard earned dollars?
