Ford Australia has issued a recall for specific Ford Everest vehicles built between March 9, 2018 to March 13, 2018. There appears to be an issue relating to the seat cushion frame of the seats, where the welds aren’t up to spec on 60 vehicles.
According to the ACCC recall notice, failure of these welds could then in turn cause:
– Noise between separated components
– Displacement/Deformation of the seat cushion frame
– Incomplete/Irregular motion of the seat during adjustment
Despite being a little inconvenient, the main concern is that in an accident, there is the potential for injury to an occupant on the sharp edges where the welds have failed. Ford has confirmed they will be writing to owners of impacted vehicles, to have the seats repaired or replaced, and that owners of the vehicles with VIN numbers here, should contact their Ford authorised dealership for inspection and rectification.
