The LDV T60 ute is locked in for launching in Australia, bringing with it another option of dual cab ute. the T60 ute will occupy the lower price end of the spectrum. Being a newcomer to the market, the T60 ute will look to coax over new buyers with its value for money.
There isn’t confirmation of price on the LDV T60 ute yet, but we reckon you’d be parting with something like $30,000 for a diesel 4X4. There’s going to be 4X4 and 2X4 options offered, as well as automatic and manual gearboxes and two trim specifications.
There is a 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel under the bonnet, which is fed compressed air via a variable geometry turbocharger. We aren’t sure yet, but the engine is strikingly similar to the VM Motori engine used in the Holden Colorado and Trailblazer, as well as the Jeep Wrangler. In any case, it runs at a lower tune of 110kW and 360Nm. Who knows, maybe T60 will be a good candidate for tuning?
Along with the vans and light trucks that LDV sell already, the T60 ute will be joined by the 4X4 wagon D90 later in the year.
What do you think? What will the T60 need to succeed in Australia?
