The 2018 Haval H9 has been announced by the Chinese manufacturer, with a handful of upgrades that will further push the value-for-money proposition of this seven-seater.
They have squeezed another 12.5% of power out of the 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine, which will now make 180kW @ 5,500 rpm. There is also a bump to the torque figure, now 350Nm.
The updated engine will be running through an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission, adding an extra two foward ratios over the old gearbox. This will make the H9 faster and more efficient. Winning!
There is also a handful of interior changes on the 2018 Haval H9. The instrument panel has been updated (with a digital speed0), along with a panoramic sunroof and T-bar shifter.
On the spec side, Premium and LUX models will now come standard with Blind Spot Warning and Lane Departure Warning technology.
The H9 is a cut-price competitor to other seven-seater 4X4 wagons, like the LandCruiser Prado and Ford Everest, and the rest of the ute-based wagons (Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Holden Trailblazer, Toyota Fortuner and Isuzu MU-X). Currently priced at $46,490 drive away, it does include a lot of car, tech and spec for the money.

Rubbish, You get what you pay for. Hope they plan on more support than original Great Wall or Foton customers get. As the owner of a service workshop, I dread seeing GW’s drive in, you will always find a service issue, and can take days to locate parts, yet the car in only 6-7 years old. 90% of dealers are no longer, they happily took buyers money, then hand back the dealer rights when it starts costing money.
Is the catalytic converter going to cause the car and environment to catch alight when driven through long grass or straw?
