We’ve been using the Duoetto systems from the team at Aus J in our rigs for years, including the F-150, and they’ve always been a rock-solid bit of kit. When you find a brand that actually understands the vibrations and dust of the Aussie bush, you stick with them. Jay and the team aren’t the types to sit still, though. Their latest release, the PROFLO pump range, sets out to take the current standard and over-engineer it for even greater peace of mind.
The headline act here is the integration of genuine Honeywell pressure switches. While standard switches do the job, Honeywell is the global benchmark for heavy-duty hardware. By bringing this level of componentry into the RV and marine space, Aus J is essentially future-proofing your water system against the most extreme conditions. They even put these pumps through a brutal three-month, 24/7 test cycle just to make sure they could handle more than any touring family could ever throw at them.

Streamlining the install process
One of the best updates in this new range is how much easier it makes the life of a DIYer. Fitting out a canopy or a van usually involves a fair bit of “creative” wiring, but the PROFLO range features a new plug-in easy connection system. This means you aren’t stuck crimping wires in a cramped cupboard. It’s a clean, professional solution that makes the initial install, or any future maintenance, a breeze.
The entry point for the range is the FLO 2202A. This is a compact little unit, measuring just 162mm, which makes it perfect for those tight builds where every millimetre of space in the canopy is precious. Despite its size, it’s a capable performer, offering 4 litres per minute and full self-priming capabilities. It also features run-dry protection, so if you happen to empty the tank while the pump is active, the motor won’t be under any stress.
Smooth flow for a better camp experience
For those running larger caravans or motorhomes, the PROFLO 4-Chamber series is the way to go. These pumps are designed to deliver a much smoother, more consistent flow than traditional diaphragm pumps. By using four chambers and a Santoprene diaphragm, they eliminate the “pulsing” feel at the tap. Santoprene is a high-spec material that stays flexible and tough regardless of whether you are in the freezing High Country or the baking heat of the Red Centre.
The noise levels are also impressively low, coming in at under 50dB. This is down to a balanced motor design and precision ball bearings that keep everything spinning freely. When you’re parked up in a quiet campsite, you don’t want your water pump sounding like a jackhammer every time someone washes their hands. These units sit on secure, rubberised mounting feet to further dampen any vibration through the hull or chassis.

Professional grade without the price hike
What we have always liked about Aus J is that they keep things practical and honest. You’re getting professional-grade engineering, but at a price that actually makes sense for the average traveller. The compact units start at $80, and the larger 4-Chamber 12V models are sitting around the $139 mark. It’s a reasonable investment for gear that uses high-end internals and high-performance vulcanised rubber.
The versatility is also a huge plus. While we mainly look at these for our 4X4 builds, they’re rated for agricultural and industrial use too. They can handle a range of chemicals, making them a great option for spray rigs or work vehicle wash-downs. Just give the system a quick flush with fresh water after using chemicals and it’ll be ready for the next job.
Built by those who go there
At the end of the day, we want gear that we don’t have to think about once it’s installed. Jay King and the Aus J team are out there living it in their own rigs, so they know exactly where the stress points are in a water system. This PROFLO range feels like a natural evolution of their tech, taking what worked and making it even more robust for the long haul.
If you’re looking to upgrade your current setup or you’re in the middle of a new build, these pumps are well worth a look. You can find the full range, including the optional accumulator tanks for even better pressure management, over at their website.
