Episode 7 to hit your screens this Sunday at 3pm, on TEN.
Last week on Pat Callinan’s 4X4 Adventures, Pat and Josh began their journey across the Great Australian Bight. This gorgeous part of the world saw them hitting up some incredible scenery that just had to be seen to be believed. Last week we left you on a cliffhanger, knowing that this was just part one of two episodes covering the adventure across the Great Australian Bight. Dare we say, the best is yet to come in the second part of this two-parter.
A special guest appearance
In this episode, Pat’s driving the Next Gen Ford Everest Sport V6, jacked up on Outback Armour suspension and some Nighthawk driving lights shining the way forward. Josh will be steering the Ford Ranger V6 with a Rhino-Rack roof-rack on top and none other than a Bushwakka awning. And this episode, there’s a third rig along for the ride. A brand new factory-fresh twin turbo Ranger Raptor, driven by Ian Foston, Ford’s Ranger and Everest Chief Platform Engineer. What a treat.
This episode’s journey begins at Cocklebiddy, followed by Twilight Cove and out to Baxter Cliffs. The crew then fuel up at Balladonia before heading to Cape Arid and the Bilbunya Dunes. Then it’s onto Lucky Bay, Esperance and Wiley Rock.
Scenery that has to be seen to be believed
A highlight of this episode has got to be the colour of the water in Western Australia. There truly are no sights like the views you get to enjoy in the Western part of our country. The white sand and picturesque water could very well be a painting in motion. Ian Fowler took the words out of our mouths when he said “it’s breathtaking!”
The Baxter Cliffs are certainly a wonder to marvel at. They’ve been named after John Baxter, an explorer who accompanied John Edward Eyre on the Eyre expedition in 1841. His memorial lies nearby, where his memory has been immortalised after he was killed on April 29th, 1841.
Willis was running for his life
This episode the boys ran into a fella who was literally running for his life. Jogging along the track when he saw the vehicles approaching, Willis explained his car had flooded when his diesel engine sucked in a gutful of water. He had planned on running 60-80 kilometres with nothing but a small water bottle and a can of Redbull, before he ran into the crew. Josh and Ian got to work to try to flush the water out of the engine and fuel system for Willis who was on his first solo adventure. Could the boys pull him out of the pickle he found himself in? You’ll have to tune into the episode to find out.
