Land Rover has revealed the most luxurious Range Rover to date at the LA Motor Show today, the Range Rover SVAutobiography.
The new Range Rover is available with a rather comprehensive set of drive-line options. This includes a PHEV (hybrid system), to a rather silly 416kW supercharged V8 petrol engine.
The new model is being touted as “the most luxurious yet, with the level of quality, craftsmanship, and sophistication that has been the hallmark of the Range Rover lineup stretching back 50 years”, according to Gerry McGovern the Chief Design Officer.
Featuring electrically controlled rear tables, integrated rear entertainment screens and an onboard 4G Wifi network, the Range Rover SVAutobiography certainly has the passengers comfort and enjoyment in mind. Oh, there is also a concealed refrigerator between the rear seats that holds two wine bottles, or four 600ml bottles, and a pair of glasses.
For the off-road enthusiast the chassis has been re-calibrated to ensure that the increase in luxury has not come at the expense of off-road ability or stability.
All in all – the new Range Rover is a bloody nice bit of kit, but to us, seems like another step away from the absolute off-road ability and roots that have been 50 years in the making.
