Lovers of retro-cool and top quality kit rejoice, Engel has you covered. On a recent sneaky social media post, Engel have given hint to their latest and greatest fridge, the MT45SY. It’s part of a long-line of steel bodied special edition Engels that have all been cooler than cool. Fitting for a fridge freezer really.
While there’s no official specs yet from Engel on the MT45SY their recent social media posts do give us a few clues. The body style and product code starting lead us to believe it’ll share similar specs to their MT-V45F 40 litre fridge freezer. The MT-V45F features the classic Sawafuji Swing Motor. Engel reckon it’s their secret sauce to success and the main reason their fridges last forever, and use bugger all power in the process. It’s a safe bet the MT45SY will feature the same heart so expect similar 12/24/240V usability, and a power draw range from 0.5-3.0A.
Engel have also hinted at a variety of modern tech hidden inside the rugged body of the MT45SY. You’ll be able to link the fridge to your phone via Bluetooth, giving you controls from the driver’s seat as well as easy monitoring. There’s a handy USB outlet for charging devices. A fridge door alarm so you’ll know if the lid is open a crack. And an adjustable divider in a wireframe basket for easy packing and cleaning. A matching limited edition 60th anniversary travel bag will also be available.
The Engel MT45SY will be rolling out in stores Australia wide from October. Stay tuned to the Mr4x4 channels for an in-depth look when more info becomes available.
