We’ve all done it. Realised halfway to our destination that we’d left one of the most important pieces of gear behind: our sunnies. Most of us stop into the servo to grab a $20 pair off the rack to get us through. However, we reckon it’s about time you swap out that pair for a pair of our favourite eyewear: TONIC Eyewear.
Lenses for all adventures
If you’ve got blue eyes you feel my pain with the glare. Enough sun and I won’t even be able to open my eyes outdoors. What I was surprised to learn recently is that different lenses are required for different settings and activities. The tint of your sunglass lenses can enhance your depth perception and reduce eye fatigue in different environments. In fact, TONIC Eyewear has a lens on offer to suit and enhance every adventure. If you’re cycling outdoors, you’ll benefit from Copper Neon, Copper Photochromic and Grey Photochromic lenses. If you’re in snowy conditions, Copper Neon, Copper Photochromic, Silver Mirror, Blue Mirror, Red Mirror and Green Mirror will work best.
Check out the handy chart below from TONIC Eyewear to see which lens suits your adventurous lifestyle.
No matter which you choose, all style lenses feature:
- Polarisation with TONIC’S custom filtration system
- Crystalite Glass, which is the clearest glass lens available
- SliceLens™ that’s only 1.7mm thick and lighter than any other
- VistaView™ which is a decentered lens that is important for true depth and distance
- ARC™ which is an anti-reflective coating to reduce “bounce back”
The Photochromic Lens adjusts to conditions
It’s so handy when you’re out and about taking pictures and your phone is able to auto-adjust its light to suit. Wouldn’t it be cool if sunglass lenses could do the same? Well, amazingly they can. It seems like an invention out of a cool, futuristic movie set in the 1990s, but it’s real. TONIC Glass Photochromic lenses, Copper or Grey, darken and lighten depending on ambient light conditions. This is how you’re able to experience the highest quality optics in all conditions.
In bright sunlight
When you’re hit with some very bright sunlight, the lens is exposed to both visible and UV light. What then happens is the lens changes to a darker shade and moves to its darkest state with an 86% tint. You’ll then find that 86% of the light is blocked and only 14% passes through the lens to your eye. You can count on maximum protection against intense sunlight on every outdoor adventure. Sun reflecting off of the sand while you’re driving is no longer a blind spot.
In low light
When you’re experiencing low light, the lens moves to 67%. This allows the maximum amount of light to reach your eyes so you can continue to experience optimal daytime vision in cloudy and overcast conditions. Safety is the utmost priority when you’re behind the wheel, which is why TONIC Eyewear is a reliable companion on every adventure.
Perfect for Aussie conditions
They’re made for Aussies as TONIC Eyewear produces the finest sunglass optics for Australian conditions. As you’re probably well aware, our conditions are some of the harshest on the planet! We’re pretty good at slapping on a hat and sunscreen, so the logical next step is to incorporate appropriate eyewear.
Sure, the servo sunnies were convenient when you were squinting through the sun with no other option. But now, we reckon you can happily swap them out for a TONIC Eyewear solution. Already got a pair? Let us know how they’ve helped you on your adventures so far.
