It’s probably the most iconic 4X4 in Australia: the venerable Toyota LandCruiser FJ40. They’re a little bit thin on the ground these days, seeing as they first started kicking around in Australia in 1960, predated by some 25 Series LandCruisers in the ’50s, the early LandCruisers built an enviable reputation for strength, power and capability, just the ticket for rural and remote-area Australia.

Since cementing its place as one of the great 4WDs, ARB is tipping the cap to the legendary FJ40 LandCruiser with a build-up and restoration of their own. It’s part of their Off Road Icons project, which is joined by a Nissan GQ Patrol, a Land Rover Defender and a Toyota Hilux.
