Have you ever dreamt of driving from Brisbane to Sydney on the dirt? There’s a long-straight and fairly monotonous highway drive between Australia’s first and third most populous cities, whether you take the inland or coastal roads. If you live on the east coast of Australia, chances are you’ve done this drive yourself at one time or another. Pull out a good map, and you’ll find literally hundreds of different tracks and routes that abound in between Brisbane and Sydney: a Great Dividing Range that is teeming with adventure.
We decided to do it. After quite a bit of planning and staring at maps, we made the journey from Brisbane to Sydney, with as little bitumen as possible, calling it Brisbane to Sydney on the Dirt. It was a huge trip, that made up three separate segments of Pat Callinan’s 4X4 Adventures’ seventh season. Check out the teasers, get yourself a copy of Season Seven, and get all of the details in the big writeup in Issue 014 of Pat Callinan’s 4X4 Adventures magazine.
